RPM Friction Pro V2 Pickleball Paddle

The RPM Friction Pro V2 Series is built for players who want elite spin, aggressive shot shaping, and a strong blend of power and control. The V2 builds on the original Friction Pro by adding RPM’s Axial Carbon Layup and an enhanced EVA foam ring, which RPM says improves spin, power, and the effective sweet spot. The line was co-designed with professional player James Ignatowich. 

RPM combines its CarbonBite carbon-fiber surface, Axial Carbon Layup, and Tri-Density Core construction to create a paddle that emphasizes spin while still maintaining stability and controllable power. According to RPM’s own lineup comparison, the Friction Pro V2 is its most spin-focused series. 

The V2 lineup includes elongated, widebody, and hybrid flat-top shapes, with 14mm and 16mm options available depending on the model. Elongated models favor reach and aggressive play, while wider and hybrid shapes offer more forgiveness and stability. 

Best for: aggressive players who want maximum spin potential, strong shot-shaping ability, and enough power to attack from the baseline while still maintaining control around the kitchen.

Tournament Approval

RPM currently lists the Friction Pro V2 models as USA Pickleball approved under the PBCoR .43 standard for USAP-sanctioned tournament play.

Choose the Friction Pro V2 if your game relies heavily on spin, topspin drives, shaped serves, dipping attacks, and aggressive control. Compared with RPM’s Q2, the V2 uses a honeycomb core with an EVA foam ring rather than a full-foam construction, giving it a different feel and making it the more spin-oriented option in RPM’s current lineup.
